Mr. West practices in the areas of business and corporate law including business formation, structure and opportunity development planning and real estate. He has extensive experience in representing businesses and families in dealing with the creation and protection of their businesses and assets including intellectual property.
Mr. West has represented a broad range of companies and partnerships in formation and securities matters, both private and public including both stock and debt transactions. He has represented companies and their owners from initial startup situations through mergers and business sale and or break up and dissolution.
Mr. West has had extensive business experience, serving as an officer and director of both private and public companies in a broad range of industries.
As counsel, Mr. West has provided estate planning services to families including wills, trusts and advanced planning documentation as well as providing representation in Estate and Guardianship litigation.
Mr. West is a life long resident of Brevard County, Florida and has participated in various community activities including the Central Brevard Chapter of the American Cancer Society, Junior Achievement, the Rossetter House Foundation, the Florida Historical Society as well as other community activities. Mr. West served as an officer with the United States Army Security Agency.

Mr. West was graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from The Florida State University in 1968 with major studies in Government and minor studies in Economics and Philosophy. He later received a Juris Doctorate degree from The Florida State University College of Law in 1974 with studies at Georgetown University Law School. In 1969 he was graduated from the Army’s Engineer Officer Candidate School. He received an officer’s commission with the Military Intelligence branch and served with the United States Army Security Agency. Mr. West was admitted to the practice of law in Florida in 1974. He is married with three grown children.

Director of VoiceLift, Inc., a privately-held telecommunications company, providing both wholesale and retail services, with administrative offices in Cocoa, Florida and technical facilities in Houston, Texas. Its wholesale division served many of the world’s largest telecom carriers with wholesale call capacity into difficult-to-reach locations around the globe. Its retail division developed a loyal retail customer base primarily consisting of business and enterprise customers requiring telecom service deployments in complex business network environments. The company’s broad local phone number footprint covers over 90% of the US, plus over 40 foreign countries. The company also maintained an impressive network of channel sales clients, including peer-to-peer Skype competitors, traditional and wireless ISPs, fiber-to-the-home network operators, calling card companies, telecom equipment vendors, information technology consultants, security system and electrical contractors, and other VoIP companies.
Former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Cambridge Energy Corporation, an oil and gas exploration and production company which had operations primarily in Southern Louisiana and foreign operations on Irian Jaya, Indonesia. The Company’s principal activities included exploration and development drilling for natural gas and crude oil on properties in which it had an interest. The Company completed full engineering and geology reviews of property interests it acquired. It undertook drilling and rework operations on these properties, and then operating those put on production. Former Member of the Board of Directors of TriMark Explorations Ltd., a private Canadian junior mining firm with properties in Uganda and Tanzania. Mr. West was responsible along with the President/Chief Geologist for negotiation and placement of Licenses with the Governments of Uganda and Tanzania and for the negotiation of contracts in Uganda with other interest holders.
Former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Interactive Technologies Corporation, a NASDAQ listed company and a technology company developing interactive digital media and interactive television programming. The Company acquired and proceeded with development of FCC licenses in support of its interactive television programming. In addition, it developed programs with interactive functions between television programs and digital data bases. The company also created and produced specialized television programming and scripts both in Florida at Universal Studios and through Satellite Network Television, a solely owned subsidiary.
A Partner in the consulting firm of Cambridge Equity, Inc., which acted as consultant to various domestic and foreign oil and gas companies including Asian Energy Corp. for which Mr. West structured international oil and gas joint ventures, partnerships and acquisitions in Indonesia. The largest project was a securitization project in Indonesia involving P.T. Ustraindo and Pertamina which anticipated the securitization of approximately US$5billion in oil and gas reserves and production for the benefit of the Indonesian government. Also participating were the commodities firm of Rodman Renshaw of Chicago and the law firm of Arnold and Porter of Washington D.C. This project involved work from the field engineers to all levels of government, including the Minister of Oil and Gas, the Governor of the Central Bank as well as with various levels of Pertamina. The approval process included oil and gas operations as well as approval of the funds flow under the country’s various exchange and credit limitations. Mr. West consulted on several related and unrelated private projects in Jakarta, Indonesia and Singapore for the balance of the period.
Former Vice Chairman and Executive Vice President (co-founder) of American Financial Network. This was the first national computerized loan origination network in the U.S. It received the first exemption letter from the United State Department of Housing and Urban Development under RESPA to pay fees from the origination of home mortgages over its network. AFN’s main frame program was developed in house with AFN development personnel. Initially before public access to the internet and AFN operated its own dial up network using initially GEISCO and then ATT, later moving to the internet. AFN was taken public in 1986-7 and traded on NASDAQ.
Former Chairman and Co-founder of Imagénet Systems Inc. a data conversion company which created digital data bases primarily for government contractors and private industry as well as provided engineering design and printed circuit design services for high technology manufacturing companies.
During this period, he acted as counsel for and/or as principal in a number of real estate and business developments both in and out of the State of Florida.
