The Greater Good
There is this thought that lingers in those certain moments, that has us asking what we can do or how we can do or use some part of what we are doing for the greater good. We don’t see ourselves diving into or sending our operating assets into that big broad not-for-profit unknown but still…..
There is a vehicle that may allow us to put a foot in both worlds. Delaware recently adopted a “Public Benefit LLC” which allows for the first time, management of a Limited Liability Company to take into account social, economic and political considerations without violating its fiduciary duty to act in the best interests of the Company. As you would guess, there are some different and additional requirements but it is a tool that allows us to not just think about but to do something for the greater good.
